The Pathfinder climbing frame is a great looking set with cedar wood construction and a huge range of features. This climbing frame goes above and beyond your standard frame. As well as features you would expect like swings and a slide there is also a trapeze bar and a picnic bench with a sun awning for outdoor lunches and messy play.

Fort Features

pathfinder climbing frame fort
The Pathfinder climbing frame's upper fort level is protected by the UV resistant tarpaulin roof to keep children safe from the sun and the rain. To reach the frame's top deck children can use the flat stepped ladder at the front of the climbing frame or for a more fun ascent they can use the rock wall ladder (Both of these ladders have yellow hand grips at the top for extra safety). From here they can take a ride on the 8ft wavy slide which features high rails to keep children safe the whole way down.

Swing Features

The belt swings are made from a flexible plastic that will securely mould around the hips and lower torso to provide a tight comfortable fit. Additional accessories like the baby seat can be brought from our climbing frames accessory range. (Please note this is in addition to, rather than instead of the 2 belt swings and trapeze bar).

Slide Features

Pathfinder Climbing Frame
  • I purchased the Pathfinder climbing frame from
you in 2015. This has become a great feature in my garden and is loved by my
grandchildren and all other children that have visited and played on it. It has
been used on a regular basis, at least twice a week, and has stood the test of
time. There are a few things I would offer my opinion on if you are thinking
about buying a frame from Selwood. I would say that anyone who intends to
construct a flatpack climbing frame has a considerable amount of knowledge and
time. It took me about two hours to check and arrange the components in a way
that made it possible for me to identify the pieces with some amount of speed
during construction. I would highly recommend doing this to ease assembly. It
took me, an accomplished woodworker, and two others, 10 hours in all to make and
position the frame on my lawn. Although the guidelines given by Selwood, with
reference to the amount of room required, are good as you can see I have a
reasonably small townhouse garden/lawn and have had no trouble with the area
used and no accidents! The area underneath the middle platform and surrounding
area has its own problems regarding cutting the grass. I have overcome this by
putting down a false grass mat. This allows the younger grandchildren to sit
under and play without the mud getting them dirty and also helps stop the frame
from rotting at the base from being on the ground. I would also recommend that
you re-stain or use some type of protection, on an annual basis, to keep the
frame from deteriorating. I have even put the end of the slide in an inflatable
paddling pool and rigged up the hose pipe above it so the kids can slide down
the water chute. Buying the baby swing accessory for the little ones was a good
decision and allows them to join in the fun.Overall I am very pleased with the
product and would recommend it if you are thinking about getting a climbing
    frame from Selwood.

Highly recommend this climbing frame
  • Although initially it was harder work than expected to put together but it's well worth the frustrating moments when assembling to watch the kids having hours of fun playing. we have 3 kids aged 12, 7 & 4 and I have found it has been suitable for all 3 although we did purchase another swing seat to avoid arguments. The product it's self it very durable and is fairing very well with the diverse English weather I am very satisfied with the quality of the product from day 1 to how it stands now 1 year on I would highly recommend this climbing frame

The kids have got their own park
  • I would just like to say how lovely the Pathfinder climbing frame is. We pre-ordered it at the beginning of June with a expected delivery date of 29th June we got a call on that day to arrange delivery everything went to plan, and when it came the guys carried it to my garden so well worth paying the extra delivery cost to have 2 man delivery. Would also say it took a lot of time to put it together as there are a lot of pieces and bolts but once up my grandchildren and family kids just loved it and with the weather just perfect the kids have got their own park well worth the money would recommend this climbing frame

Pathfinder Climbing Frame

  • We ordered this playset about a month ago and arrived after 15 working days (exactly) :-). Everything was packed in a single 80kg box, luckily it was a 2 man delivery. The underside of the box was torn when delivered and some timber pieces were damaged. Get on to email customer service straightaway, to be honest, I am very impressed with their quick response. As soon as I provided the damaged part number and related photos, the replacement were dispatched via courier very next day. After we did the inventory check, my hubby spend about 3 hours, oiling/ sealing every single piece of woods by himself. The next day, both of us spent about 1 1/2 hour putting on the second coat. We then spent couple of hours levelling and preparing the ground. Then the assembly part begin (which the fun part too!) My hubby is a very handy man and very good in putting things together. It took him about 4 hours putting it up (yes.. of course.. with the help of our 5 yo daughter and 3 yo son). They just can't wait to see their playset ready, they don't even allow their father to sit down for a cuppa :-):-), they did have a great time doing this together. The thing that worried us most when making this purchase was the quality of the timber. Overall I would say they are not very bad, they are soft and smooth. For use by children between 3-10 yo, these timber should be good and sturdy enough. I would be worried if use by anyone older. Most of the predrill holes were well aligned except one or two. It does come with clear instructions and everything you need (except tools). Although you do need some space to spread the pieces out and most importantly do take your time and do not rush. We convert the bottom part to a sandpit and our 3 yo son loves it. While our little girl loves the picnic table for water colour painting, drawing. They both enjoy the swings (one each, no fight) and slide (cleverly designed so their feet reach first not their bottom :-)). Overall very happy with the play set (great to get the children outdoor) and a big thank you and applause to my lovely husband for putting them together.
